Can you cure my (insert any symptom or disease here)?

No doctor ever cured anything. What we do is to assist you in removing the interferences to your body's own natural ability to heal itself. No matter what your condition, age, or what you have been told by other doctors, we may be able to help.

How long will I have to come? 

Every patient and condition is different. We will treat you for a short time to see how well you respond. After those visits we can give you a better idea as to how many visits you will need to get results. Keep in mind that we are dealing with your body's natural ability to heal. This can take time.

How often will I have to come?

For acute conditions we may see you every day for a time. For most conditions, however, a three times a week schedule is best. Less frequent visits can be arranged but it means it is going to take longer to get results. For patients coming long distances more than one visit per day can be scheduled.

Will it hurt?

Acupuncture and tuina are essentially painless. There can be a bit of short-lived discomfort with chiropractic adjustment, gua sha and therapeutic exercise. Chinese herbal medicines are dispensed only after a thorough evaluation to assure that there are no side effects.

What if I can't stand needles?

Unlike the large, hollow needles used by your medical doctor, acupuncture needles are solid and as fine as a hair. Moreover, you don't have to have acupuncture. We offer many other treatment options. But we have had many patients who were afraid of needles and had acupuncture with no problems.

Could I get AIDS or some other infection from acupuncture needles?

As part of his NCCAOM certification Dr. Borgstrand has had extensive training in sterile needle technique. Our needles come in sterile sealed packages so the needles are sterile going in. After a single use we dispose of them in regulation biohazard containers that are shipped to a government approved disposal site. In this way you never get anyone else’s needles and no one will ever get yours.

Can you treat my problem if I have osteoporosis or if I have had surgery?

As a board-certified chiropractic orthopedist, Dr. Borgstrand has had advanced training is managing osteoporosis and failed joint surgery syndromes. Often gentle techniques such as tuina, gua sha and craniosacral therapy are used instead of chiropractic adjustment.

Will my health insurance cover your services?

Most insurances will reimburse you for our services including acupuncture. However each contract is different. Check with your insurance administrator. Make clear to them that Dr. Borgstrand is a Wyoming licensed chiropractor authorized by state law to practice acupuncture and NCCAOM certified in acupuncture. There is no licensing of acupuncturists in Wyoming. Only a doctor of medicine, osteopathy, or chiropractic can legally practice acupuncture in Wyoming.

Will you file my insurance claims for me?

In order to keep fees down we do not file insurance for you. At each visit we give you a receipt that includes all the information you need to file your own claims with your insurance company. Your insurance company will reimburse you directly.

Will Medicare pay for your services?

We use only gentle techniques such as acupuncture and tuina on our older patients. Medicare and Medicare supplemental insurance do not pay for these services.

What about personal injury, disability, and Workers' Compensation cases?

We have found that these types of cases require tremendous amounts of paperwork and time away from patient care. For this reason we do not accept personal injury, disability, or Workers' Compensation cases.
